The Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav, the father of UP CM Akhilesh Yadav said on Friday the legislators elected after the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls will decide party’s chief ministerial candidate, it being seen as another setback for the Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.

Mulayam said, after the polls, the elected legislators & the parliamentary board will meet and decide the CM candidate of the state.

When a ask by media whether Akhilesh Yadav was still the SP’s CM candidate for the upcoming polls. Asked if Akhilesh was not in fray for CM’s post, then who will be CM, Mulayam said: “Humse na baat keejiyee.

This is not media’s job. This is a job for me and our party’s parliamentary board. Ask about it after we have gained majority.”

Ye aapka kaam nahi hai. Ye humara kaam hai, humari party ka parliamentary board ka kaam hai. Jab bahumat aa jaye humara, tab puchhiye.

Days after Akhilesh was removed from the party state president post owing to an apparent dispute in the family the remarks came.

On Wednesday, before reaching Mulayam and Shivpal there Akhilesh had left an event after paying tributes to party ideologue Ram Manohar Lohia on his death anniversary.

Mulayam, however, once again reiterated that there was no rift in the family. “There has not been any difference in the family for the last three generations. How can there be so now?
