How effective the child labour has the ban been in India?

The government has strictly prohibited the child labour, below is the effectiveness of this prohibition shown by the Census of India

The child labour is defined as “Work that deprives children of their childhood, potential & dignity, and that is harmful to physical and mental development” according to International Labour Organization.

The Mizoram have the percentage change in working children per 1000 population.


The percentage change in working children per 1000 population :

Jammu & Kashmir (-88.24 %)
Himachal Pradesh (-87.68 %)
Chhattisgarh (-85.71 %)
Sikkim (-85.45 %)
Goa (54.52 %)
