Old Delhi station will come in Gold Category after makeover

The railway ministry has set timeline of 6 month for the redevelopment of the old delhi station, including renovating the entrance and waiting hall redesigning to install digital time table screen, so that it gives a new look.

The total cost of new look is approx Rs.15 crore.

The railway has categorise the country's station into three category like-Gold, Silver and Bronze.

New Delhi, Anand Vihar and Old Delhi Station will come under Gold category, while Nizamuddin will be silver class.

The gold category station will have top notch station with the best class passenger amenties.

The work is carried out under the guidance of EDGE a Chandigarh firm and Tata Elxsi. The railtel will assist in setting up digital info display screens for real time train running status.
